Darcie Van Voorst has been working in the field of social work for over 20 years in a variety of roles, but it was adopting two older children from the foster care system 20 years ago that truly ignited her passion and understanding in how to help people heal from hard experiences. In addition to receiving her masters in social work with a specialization in trauma, Darcie has done extensive research and has received substantial training on trauma related issues. Darcie’s current focus is growing as a trauma therapist for individuals, couples, and families. She is passionate about helping people gain an understanding of why they are struggling and supporting them as they work through the hard that’s standing in the way of living life abundantly. Darcie utilizes a holistic approach to healing and therapeutically involves both the brain and the body in processing hard experiences. In addition to her role as a therapist, she offers trainings and consultations to those seeking to understand the impact of stress and trauma. From a personal and professional perspective, Darcie offers hope for lasting change through educating, empowering, and equipping people on how to overcome the challenges they are facing.
