Carl Christiansen, founder and president of Beauty Amidst The Ashes, uses his adoption story to point others to the hope of the gospel. With the heart of a father, his desire and passion is to defend and love the fatherless and orphan. His vision has given birth to this unique ministry. As a boy Carl developed an urgency to share the gospel message with those around him. Adopted as an infant, he grew up learning he was chosen and special. Over the years he began to see the Father heart of God for him as an adopted child. Carl is known for speaking about the powerful connection between his own adoption and how God adopts us into His family. He shares about adoption, the importance of pro-life and defends those who have no voice. Carl uses his story to point others to the hope of the gospel. Its truth can change lives and restore relationships. His surrender to the path set before him brought the beauty of bringing painful experiences to the feet of Jesus and letting Him take control.

Carl and Shaylee were married in April of 2016. With their two beautiful daughters and handsome little boy, the Christiansen’s live in northwest Iowa. Shaylee serves as the Donor Relations Manager for the organization. The Christiansen family serves together to make a difference in the lives of children and families while advocating for adoption.
