Adoption has always been an integral part of my life. I come from a family of six siblings, three of whom are adopted. My first adopted sister joined our family when I was about two years old, and three years later, my parents adopted my second sister. Both were adopted as infants from South Korea.

A few years later, my mother began working as an adoption social worker, initially supporting adoptive families and later expanding her role to include expectant and birth parent counseling. As a child, I witnessed various aspects of the adoption process firsthand. When I was in elementary school, my mother established her own adoption agency, and as I grew older, I helped in the office and occasionally traveled with her.

During my junior high years, my parents adopted my youngest brother from Chile when he was five years old. Growing up in a home where adoption was a natural and everyday part of life nurtured my passion for working with children and, ultimately, my desire to become an adoption social worker.

After graduating from college in 1998, I began my career at New Horizons Adoption Agency, Inc., where I worked with both domestic and international adoptive families, as well as provided expectant and birth parent counseling. In 2004, while continuing my role at New Horizons Adoption Agency, Inc., I also joined an international agency, Gift of Love, which later became America World Adoption Association, as an adoption social worker.

Through both my personal and professional experiences, adoption has shaped my life in profound ways. It has given me a deep understanding of the joys and challenges that come with the process, as well as a passion for supporting children, birth parents, and adoptive families. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue making a difference in the lives of those touched by adoption.
